MOPAC
This research design evaluates, at the student level, how a whole-school approach to physical activity (WSA-PA) contributes to pupil’s well-being, learning, and health.
A Difference in Differences design will be applied to assess whether pupils in WSA-PA schools have more positive developments in well-being, learning, and health than pupils in comparable schools.
Individual pupil measurements are collected before and after two years of WSA-PA in grades 4, 6, and 8. Effects on well-being, motivation, academic performance, cognition, and physical activity are assed by comparing differences in differences (post – pre).
A mixed-methods approach is applied, using registry data (including questionnaires), direct measurements, and interviews. Furthermore, the schools’ chosen types of movement activities will be linked to the effects on pupil’s well-being, learning, and health.
